SEON’s website combined a headless NextJS frontend with native WordPress elements for select sections. This complex infrastructure required developer intervention, limiting agility.

Delivering the best of WordPress

Human Made reimagined SEON’s website with a fully editable block-based WordPress theme, making it easier for the marketing team to create and manage pages. Key features included:

  • Full Site Editing (FSE): A block-based approach to templates and patterns for flexibility in content creation.
  • Custom Gutenberg blocks: 30 reusable blocks, including interactive elements like Lottie animations, HubSpot integration, and inline synced text snippets.
  • Multilingual functionality: Powered by MultiLingualPress to deliver content in English and Spanish.
  • Content migration: Seamless migration of existing content and modernisation of plugins.

The project followed an agile methodology, enabling flexibility and collaboration throughout development.

We collaborated closely with the team at SEON to define project milestones, including early content migration to enable testing and iteration. Designs were finalised during development, with clear priorities set for must-have and nice-to-have features.

The team built a robust block-based theme aligned with SEON’s design system. They migrated content while enhancing functionality with new blocks and custom plugins, such as pop-ups and table-of-contents features.

Despite evolving requirements, the project was delivered on time, with a modern and scalable website that met all key objectives.
