As a remote company it’s not often we get the chance to see each other in person, so we’re all very excited about the next few weeks. At the end of September almost the whole of Human Made will be getting together for 10 days.
We are kicking off with WordCamp Europe 2014 in Sofia on 27 – 29 September. Noel is already over there, hard at work with organisation. He’ll also be presenting “Beyond the Code”, an inspirational talk grounded in Noel’s own experiences building WordPress products. Joining Noel at WCEU will be the UK contingent of Tom, Matt, Owain, Franz, Jenny and Dasha and the ever growing Aussie contingent of Theo, Ryan and Japh; Joe will be flying in from the US, Scott from Norway and not forgetting Paul making the long journey from Brazil. Come and say hi to us all.
The HM team are already planning to join the pre-WordCamp social activities on Friday 26 Sept including the unofficial WC walking tour of Sofia, organised by our friend Rhys Wynne, and the exciting Paintball battle of nations.
We are then taking the opportunity to spend some more time together at one of our famous Human Made retreats. After the wintry Norway retreat earlier this year, and sunny Lanzarote the last year, the team are hoping for a different vibe in Sofia. Activity planning is currently underway. Expect an update on the retreat in October; hopefully what goes on retreat might not all stay on retreat.
Things round off and get back to our remote-working, distributed normal around 5th October when everyone will start to head for home.
If you need to get in touch with us from 26th Sept to 6th October, we’ll all still be contactable by the usual methods, but will not be working to our usual routines (or timezones for some), so please bear that in mind.
