Enhanced editorial efficiency with AI

The team at AGBI understood that their readers are looking for impactful insights whenever and wherever they interact with AGBI’s content.

The goal for the project was to exceed user expectations and enhance efficiency by integrating AI into AGBI’s editorial workflow, enabling editors to efficiently generate, review, and publish summaries.

Users can access these AI-generated summaries on Company Insight pages: these pages aim to complement AGBI’s news coverage with evergreen content about key companies in the region. They hope this will become a rich resource and be a strong differentiator for them in their market.

From Company Insights, users can explore the source articles, and click through to read the full content. This approach would streamline the content creation process, and enhance user engagement by delivering meaningful insights.

Overcoming AI limitations

One of the key challenges was refining the AI prompts to produce publish-ready summaries with minimal editorial input.

Our Human Made team addressed this by introducing editable prompts within WordPress, allowing editors to quickly iterate and refine them.

By incorporating AGBI’s writing style guide into system and user prompts, the AI’s output quality improved significantly, resulting in summaries that aligned with the company’s editorial standards.

The combination of well-crafted prompts with recent relevant news now allows for the production of AI-generated content that is fresh, genuinely useful content and remains unique to AGBI—avoiding the pitfalls of generic, low-quality AI text.

Keeping people at the heart of AGBI’s AI integration

AGBI’s dedication to timely, relevant, and insightful content meant they wanted to retain human involvement within the editorial process.

To maintain these quality standards alongside AI-generated content, we developed a workflow for the editorial team to create these summaries efficiently.

Instead of full automation, summaries are generated on demand, allowing editors to review, edit, and refine them before publishing. The tool also flags summaries that have not been regenerated recently, helping the team maintain up-to-date content.
