Supporting Transgender Rights at Human Made

At Human Made, our commitment to inclusivity is central to who we are. We believe everyone deserves to live with dignity, freedom, and respect, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or background.

Recent developments, such as the UK Supreme Court’s ruling on the legal definition of sex, have caused distress for many, particularly within the LGBTQIA+ community. We recognise that this decision, along with other concerning global trends, has left some feeling fearful and uncertain. Whether it’s legislation restricting LGBTQIA+ expression, or the ongoing erosion of transgender rights, it’s clear that support for marginalised communities remains as crucial as ever.

While the legal and political landscapes differ across the countries we live and work in, our values remain consistent. We stand in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community. We believe in a world where everyone can thrive at work and beyond, regardless of who they are or how they identify.

As a fully distributed company, we aim to build an inclusive culture across borders and time zones. That includes offering practical support where we can: our Time Off to Protest and Vote policy empowers team members to take civic action, and our Employee Assistance Programme is available for any of our colleagues who need confidential mental health or wellbeing support.

Internally, we continue to explore how we can do better, whether through education, community support, or inclusive policy-making. Our Inclusivity Team deserves a special mention: the volunteer members of this team do an amazing job of advocating for us to continue improving our support for any and every group who may need it.

We’re all just humans. Having colleagues who care deeply about how the world treats people is what makes us Human Made.

Let’s keep building a workplace, and a web, that welcomes everyone.
