I’m really excited to announce that Daniel Bachhuber will be joining Human Made as a full-time Senior Engineer. Daniel’s illustrious WordPress career has so far seen him co-founding and directing CoPress, a WordPress hosting platform aimed at Student Newsrooms; working for the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism as their Digital Media Manager and most recently, helping some of the largest WordPress powered sites in the world as a Code Wrangler for WordPress.com VIP.

We’re proud that Daniel has chosen to make Human Made the next chapter in his career. He’ll be a big part of taking our client work and internal projects to the next level. Welcome Daniel!

Thanks Tom — quite excited about this opportunity. Having had the chance to collaborate with Human Made on a couple prior engagements, I’ve always been very impressed with the work the team has produced. When it came time to figure out where I wanted to take my career, Human Made was at the top of my list.

As Tom described, my background is the intersection of WordPress and publishing. We started CoPress for student newspapers several years back because WordPress had already proved itself to be a formidable platform. Now, coming off a couple of years with WordPress.com VIP, I can safely say WordPress is a mature, world-class publishing solution. It’s also evolving as an application framework (happytables? WP Remote? cough cough). I’m looking forward to applying my tricks to new projects.

I’ll be joining the Human Made team from the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon where I live with my girlfriend Leah. When not at my standing desk, I enjoy getting outside — running, hiking, skiing, etc. We also love to push our culinary skills to new limits.

I’m also looking forward to continuing my involvement in the WordPress community. Our Portland WordPress Meetup is growing nicely; we’re hosting our first hack day on Saturday. wp-cli is improving daily too, and Human Made will continue to be able to capitalize on that work.

Can’t wait to kick things into full gear at the beginning of May!
